History

Delve into a touch of aviation trivia at The Trails Airpark, where enthusiasts have the chance to share airspace with history. Did you know that the former owner of property along our runway was none other than Ernst G. Kraft, a dedicated advocate of remote controlled aviation through Mini-IMAC (International Miniature Aerobatic Club) in Florida? While it’s just a tidbit of trivia, it adds a unique flair to our community.

Other notable former residents of the airstrip include Sharkey Baz, who was an Airline Transport Pilot with over fifty years of flying experience, a retired Major in the United States Army, and a former member of the 8th Special Forces Group (Green Beret). Sharkey’s aviation career encompassed roles as Chief Pilot for Citrus World, Director of Aviation for Polk Air Inc., and Director of Aviation for Alpha Jet Inc., along with notable achievements and recognitions in both aviation and military service.

Take to the skies at The Trails Airpark, where every flight comes with a sprinkle of aviation history.

  • Additional supplemental information docs uploaded as well. See Article on The Law: What Happens if nobody wants to serve on the board of an HOA?, Gives some info regarding receivership. The current board would like to steer the POA towards partial or full management support and arrive at the same outcome as receivership would get us, but do this under membership and board control of execution and costs, rather than the more costly and consequential alternative of a court appointed receiver/manager.
  • Due to lack of reliable internet connection at the Gazebo Common Area, the possibility of zoom meeting or live stream does not look good. We will still try to record the meeting and post on website afterwards. We may want to consider other sites for future meetings in order to facilitate virtual attendance.
